Great Day for Worship

Today was a great day for worship! Not that every day shouldn't be, but I found myself extra thankful to God today. I'm thankful for a church that truly feels like a family. I know by talking to other people, especially pastor's families that it is a rare thing to have what we have. Our church is so relaxed and loving and I know I can count on them when I need them. What a blessing!

On another note, we had our quarterly Connection meeting tonight at church, which is what we call our business meetings. It is a true celebration of the past 3 months, we eat, share testimonies, and just praise God for His blessings! Here's my question - How do you keep a 13 month old still during a meeting like this? It's practically impossible! Caleb seemed to enjoy walking from table to table, crawling under tables, and entertaining himself anyway possible. If it was someone else's kid, it would be cute to me, but why does it feel so opposite of that when it is your own? It feels like every stage that kids go through have some kind of extremely embarassing feature! Oh the joys of motherhood! I know one day I'll look back and smile when I think of these simple moments, but it sure can be exhausting in the meantime! God bless all the mothers out there - and like my sister always tells me "It probably feels a lot worse to you than it really is!"

Lastly, in lieu of our month long "sickcapade", where at least one person in our family was sick every day of this month - Adam and I are deeming this Health Awareness month at our house. If anyone has any simple, cheap, healthy recipes I'd love to hear from you! Or just any health tips in general! Well, I need to go clean my house right now, which is what I feel like I'm always doing. Tootsie is coming tomorrow, yeah!! Hope you had a Happy Sunday!

By the way, the picture above is of a "Pirate Adventure" that Daddy and the boys went on when mommy needed a little time to herself! I ended up being the singing mermaid who gave the clue to the treasure after a long scavenger hunt! They even went to Wal-Mart dressed that way. Adam wanted to dress up too, imagine that! On a similar note, we were in Wal-Mart the other day and Jonah looked behind us and loudly exclaimed - "Look Mom, A PIRATE!" The elderly man with a patch on his eye behind me just looked at me with no expression! I said to Jonah, "He's not a pirate, he just has a patch on his eye". Jonah said back to me matter of factly, "But Pirates have to come to Wal-Mart too, Mom". Obviously, I really had nothing to say after that!

A New Beginning

Well, I'm finally giving in to my blogging desires! I have secretly wanted to have my own blog for a while, but I have held back for fear that I would put way too much pressure on myself to do it just right! I've decided to lay that fear aside and embark on a new beginning!
My purpose for this blog is to share the heart of our family through our everyday experiences! I hope to keep friends and family up-to-date with pictures and stories of the day-to-day happenings of our family. I pray that you will find laughter and joy through reading this blog, and most of all I hope you will be able to see the hand of God at work in our everyday life!

GOTCHA! TWO MISCHIEVOUS BOYS!

Jonah - caught filling his mouth with grapes!

Caleb - caught ruining one of my soundtrack tapes! (Yes I do still have cassette tapes!)
