It's amazing how much fun kids can have with a box! I think this became a rocketship, at least for this picture! See the two space explorers! It also became many other fun things before it finally had to retire!
On Labor Day we were blessed with a "free" night at a bed and breakfast cabin. It was such a cute place located in Pottsboro, Texas. My sister and her family came to join us. Here's the cousins (Logan, Caleb, Landry, and Jonah).
Jonah and Caleb feeding the goats! Caleb is actually a lot more brave at this than his older brother!
I just had to include this picture, just because I love to see Caleb drink from a juice box! Aren't his cheeks so cute??!
Four boys admiring the fire that it only took 2 hours for the Daddy's to make!! They said the wood was wet, but I don't think so!!! It was a great fire once it was going - and we enjoyed hot dogs, s'mores, and we even roasted an apple and a banana which wasn't half bad!
Here's our breakfast roasting on the fire! You take biscuits and smoosh them over the dowel rod and roast them over the coals. When they are done you can just pull them off and there's a hole that you can put sausage, butter, honey, jelly, whatever you like! They are very yummy! Ours had some technical difficulties, but next time we'll know what we did wrong. We've made them several times before and they are definitely a fun camping treat!
Daddy, Jonah, and Caleb riding on the paddleboat! I was not brave enough to get in for fear that my side would have tipped over! I don't think my buoyancy would be too great at this point in my pregnancy either! Looks like fun though.
Jonah helping touch-up paint Hannah's room with Daddy.
Here we are crumbling bread crumbs and filling the bird feeder. They both got into this project. Caleb especially likes to be able to destroy anything, even if it is a piece of bread. The squirrels actually ended up stealing all the crumbs, but at least someone got use out of them!
These next two pictures are our attempt at frugality! We bought a haircut kit and Adam attempted his first haircut on the boys. Adam is a lot more detail oriented than me, so I thought he would be better for the job. Plus - he's seen boy haircuts his whole life, I would have just been lost. We learned some things to do and not to do in the process, but overall we were pleased with the results!
Caleb seems happy with his results! I think he's just happy because he gets to eat a sucker the whole time so he'll sit still. It was a very hairy, sticky sucker by the end, but it did the trick!
Jonah reading a book to his little brother.
Caleb enjoying a nice, neat spaghetti dinner! He loves to wear this Mickey hat everywhere we go. There have even been times when he has slept in it!
My husband, "the romantic"! I came home from taking Jonah to school and here was a vase of roses sitting on our kitchen table! AAAWWW! I called him to tell him thank you and he laughed when he told me they were free! He and the boys were at the store and came out and a wrapped bunch of flowers had been thrown on the ground! He picked out the ones that had been run over by a car and was left with this beatiful bouquet! Some people may think that's offensive - but I love it! He was still thinking of me - and he saved a whole bunch of money in the process! I love flowers, but I've always told him to get me something that's a little more useful if you're gonna spend that kind of money so he did good!! He knew I'd appreciate the story, more than the flowers!
