Pink Lint?

Okay, the title for this blog may be a little silly, but I've discovered something that I have never experienced. Today I've been washing blankets and clothes that people have given me for Hannah and for the first time in my life all of the lint that came from my dryer trap was pastel pink! That's a new one! I'm sure that's is just really exciting for ya'll but it was actually a very strange thing for me. I guess I'll have to get used to that one!

I went for my last ultrasound yesterday. The doctor was trying to get a good 4-D picture of her face, but little Hannah once again would not cooperate. I think it's the hour and a half wait that I have every time in the waiting room that lulls her to sleep! I don't blame her. I did get to see a little bit of cheek and a closed eye, but her hand was right there in her face again. I told the doctor it was fine, because I'll see the real face in 4 weeks! I can't believe that she is just right around the corner, I think I'm finally realizing I'm going to have a daughter. Jonah asks everyday when Hannah is coming. We go through the same process - 4 weeks, "what's 4 weeks mean?" it means about 30 days - "what's 30 days mean?" ..... and I'm sure you can imagine the rest of the conversation. I know he's just so excited! Caleb is just excited about all the new contraptions in our house. We went ahead and put up her pack and play in our room and the bouncer and swing just so he'll get used to it and maybe won't try to join her in her bouncer or bed when she gets here. I think the novelty has worn off now - at least while she's not trying to share it!

Here are a bunch of pictures that I wanted to catch you up on. I had lost my camera cord until recently, so I haven't been able to download my pictures for a while.

It's amazing how much fun kids can have with a box! I think this became a rocketship, at least for this picture! See the two space explorers! It also became many other fun things before it finally had to retire!

On Labor Day we were blessed with a "free" night at a bed and breakfast cabin. It was such a cute place located in Pottsboro, Texas. My sister and her family came to join us. Here's the cousins (Logan, Caleb, Landry, and Jonah).

Jonah and Caleb feeding the goats! Caleb is actually a lot more brave at this than his older brother!

I just had to include this picture, just because I love to see Caleb drink from a juice box! Aren't his cheeks so cute??!

Four boys admiring the fire that it only took 2 hours for the Daddy's to make!! They said the wood was wet, but I don't think so!!! It was a great fire once it was going - and we enjoyed hot dogs, s'mores, and we even roasted an apple and a banana which wasn't half bad!

Here's our breakfast roasting on the fire! You take biscuits and smoosh them over the dowel rod and roast them over the coals. When they are done you can just pull them off and there's a hole that you can put sausage, butter, honey, jelly, whatever you like! They are very yummy! Ours had some technical difficulties, but next time we'll know what we did wrong. We've made them several times before and they are definitely a fun camping treat!

Daddy, Jonah, and Caleb riding on the paddleboat! I was not brave enough to get in for fear that my side would have tipped over! I don't think my buoyancy would be too great at this point in my pregnancy either! Looks like fun though.

Jonah helping touch-up paint Hannah's room with Daddy.

Here we are crumbling bread crumbs and filling the bird feeder. They both got into this project. Caleb especially likes to be able to destroy anything, even if it is a piece of bread. The squirrels actually ended up stealing all the crumbs, but at least someone got use out of them!

These next two pictures are our attempt at frugality! We bought a haircut kit and Adam attempted his first haircut on the boys. Adam is a lot more detail oriented than me, so I thought he would be better for the job. Plus - he's seen boy haircuts his whole life, I would have just been lost. We learned some things to do and not to do in the process, but overall we were pleased with the results!

Caleb seems happy with his results! I think he's just happy because he gets to eat a sucker the whole time so he'll sit still. It was a very hairy, sticky sucker by the end, but it did the trick!

Jonah reading a book to his little brother.

Caleb enjoying a nice, neat spaghetti dinner! He loves to wear this Mickey hat everywhere we go. There have even been times when he has slept in it!

My husband, "the romantic"! I came home from taking Jonah to school and here was a vase of roses sitting on our kitchen table! AAAWWW! I called him to tell him thank you and he laughed when he told me they were free! He and the boys were at the store and came out and a wrapped bunch of flowers had been thrown on the ground! He picked out the ones that had been run over by a car and was left with this beatiful bouquet! Some people may think that's offensive - but I love it! He was still thinking of me - and he saved a whole bunch of money in the process! I love flowers, but I've always told him to get me something that's a little more useful if you're gonna spend that kind of money so he did good!! He knew I'd appreciate the story, more than the flowers!

Hey Mandy, that story about the pink lint was too funny!

I'm sure you're busy, but I wondered if you'd be in Mexia next weekend Sept 26-27th?

It's our 10 year reunion so I'll be in town. Well, keep me posted on Hannah's arrival! Hope you're feeling well!

What great pictures! Just love them all. Thanks for sharing them. Always brings a smile to my face, no matter how I am feeling.

Pink lint, now that's a new one. I hadn't even thought of that. I guess it is going to be a whole new ballgame with our little Hannah in the family.

Hope you are as comfortable as you can get right now, Mandy. It won't be much longer before your back stops hurting, at least from carrying Hannah the way you are now.

Love you all so much.

Mandy, I just wanted to tell you how precious you are. Adam told me last night what you are giving him for his 30th birthday. While I was taken back for a second, realizing it was his 30th birthday, which would make me 44 :) years old, I couldn't get over your unselfish gift. Here you are totally uncomfortable and you secretly plan a getaway trip for him three weeks before our little Hannah is born! What an amazing wife you are, he is so blessed to have you as his mate. And what an amazing daughter-in-law you are to just know my son has a wife that puts his needs before her own when she sees and recognizes his needs. Thank you for being who you are and for loving my son so much. You are very precious to all of us. Thank you dear one, I love you very much.

WHEW!!!

Relieved that all of you are under one roof again. You gave the greatest of birthday presents to Adam, but it was tough thinking about him being away from you right now, knowing Hannah might decide to arrive anytime.

Love you Precious Girl,
Barbara
